Dear to My Heart

A name bracelet, something you can wear and keep close to you, is a great way of
expressing loving feelings toward new babies, your own children or grandchildren,
your significant other, and you as a couple. This fun and “charming” bracelet can be
easily adjusted for a personalized fit. This bracelet uses the names and birthstones
of Jean’s two grandsons.

nose pliers and pair of bent-nose pliers)
2 pairs of round-nose pliers

Directions are given for one strand of this two-strand
bracelet. To complete the bracelet, repeat steps -9 for
the second strand

Flowers
step 1:
Form 23 flowers using the 5mm jump rings. To
create a flower, open a 5mm ring and attach it
to a second ring. Stack the rings on top of each
other and attach a third ring through the center
of both rings. (Figures and 2)
Embellishments
Charms
When adding the letter charms, begin with the letter in
the middle of the name. (In this example, the letter “A”
is the middle letter of “SAM.”)
step 3:
Open four 6mm jump rings. Attach two 6mm
jump rings to the 4mm jump ring attached to
the letter “A.” Attach two more 6mm jump rings
to the first pair.
step 4:
Find the middle of the bracelet. Attach the top
6mm jump rings to the middle flower. Add the
remaining letters to the adjoining flowers.
step 5:
Attach two 6mm jump rings to a heart charm.
Using 2 more jump rings, attach the heart to the
fourth flower to the right of the letter “M.”

Assembling the Bracelet
step 2:
Open 48 size 4mm jump rings. Using 2 jump
rings connect 2 flowers. Repeat 22 times. On
each end of the chain, add 2 jump rings. (These
will be used to attach the clasp.)

step 6:
Attach two 6mm jump rings to the bee charm. Using 2
more jump rings, attach the bee to the fourth flower to
the left of the letter “S.”
Wrapped Loop
To form a wrapped loop, begin with a 90° bend
at least 2" from the end of the wire. Use round-
nose pliers to form a simple loop with a tail
overlapping the bend. Wrap the tail tightly
down the neck of the wire to create a couple of
coils. Trim the
excess wire to
finish. Make a
double-wrapped
loop by wrapping
the wire back up
over the coils,
toward the loop,
and trimming the
wire tail at the loop.
Crystal Dangles
Choose crystal colors to match birthstones. (In this example,
green crystals are used to signify emeralds, the May birthstone.)
step 7:
Place a silver spacer, a green 6mm round, and a bead cap
on a head pin. Create a wrapped loop. Create 3 more
green crystal dangles.
step 8:
Open 48 6mm jump rings. Attach 2 jump rings to each
crystal dangle. Attach each dangle to each flower using
2 more jump rings, except for the flowers that already
contain charms and the 2 flowers on each end.
Adding the clasp
step 9:
Attach the jump rings to both sides of the clasp.
Remember to repeat these instructions (Steps -9) for the second
strand of this two-strand bracelet.

Opening Jump Rings
Jump rings connect holes and loops. Open a
jump ring by grasping each side of its opening
with a pair of pliers;
don’t pull apart.
Instead, twist in
opposite directions so
that you can open
and close without
distorting the shape.
