Note: If your system is in True Colour (24 or 32-bit) mode, Virtual Pool Hall will
only run in full screen mode. If you wish to run Virtual Pool Hall in a desktop
window, change the Colours setting to High Colour (16-bit). This can be
accomplished by right-clicking anywhere on your Windows desktop, selecting
Properties, then selecting Settings and changing the Colours option in the
bottom left corner of the window.
How to SETUP Virtual Pool Hall
Simply insert the Virtual Pool Hall CD-Rom into your CD-Rom drive. The AutoRun
feature will bring up the install menu.
Select 'Install', and the program will lead you through the necessary steps to setup
the game on your system. If your AutoRun is disabled or does not work for whatever
reason, use the Run option from your Start Menu to locate and run
d:\Windows\Autorun.exe (where d: is the letter of your CD-Rom device). This will
bring up the install menu, and you can follow the above instructions.
Note: You MUST have DirectX 7 installed on your system to play Virtual Pool
Hall. If you do not have DirectX 7 installed, the Setup program will ask you if
you wish to install it. Select Yes.

Virtual Pool Hall Enhancements
Virtual Pool Hall is the next game in the Virtual Pool line of products. Listed below is
a summary of major feature modifications and additions to Virtual Pool Hall.
Simulation
A new physics model includes the addition/redo of:

Increased spin from pinching against table
Rail model -improved rail response, less spin reduction

Starting the Game
The Virtual Pool Hall disc must be in the CD-Rom driver even if it has already been
installed. If Virtual Pool Hall is installed on your system, the AutoRun feature will start;
otherwise, the Virtual Pool Hall install program will be displayed. To install, please
refer to How to SETUP Virtual Pool Hall.
Note: If you have your Desktop Colour Palette set to High Colour (16-bit), you
can play either full screen or in a scalable desktop window. If your Desktop is
True Colour (24 or 32-bit), Virtual Pool Hall can only run at full screen.
Quick Start
After some introductory screens, the Virtual Pool Hall game screen will come up.
Before you can play you must create a player. Select New User and type in a player
name (see Player Logon and Statistics). The game screen consists of the Menu Items,
Status Area, Pool Window, and Action Bar (see The Game Screen ). These areas will
keep track of everything in the game for you. See Game Window below.
By default, the game starts a self-play game of Nine Ball with Player One in Aim Mode.
By moving the mouse left or right you can adjust the Aim. Moving the mouse forward
or backward tilts the view of the table. Holding down the left mouse button while
moving the mouse forward or backward increases or decreases the Zoom level.
When you are satisfied with your aim, press and hold the S key. The mouse is now
controlling the cue stick. As you move the mouse backward and then forward, the
cue stick will move in response. The speed at which you move the mouse
determines the force in which the cue stick strikes the cue ball. Move the mouse
forward slowly for a light tap and quickly for a more powerful shot.
Press ESC at any time to bring the mouse cursor back onto the screen and bring
up the Menu Items (if they are hidden). You can find a complete description of the
game controls in this manual. See Keyboard Controls for a description of the
keyboard interface and hot keys, and Menu Items for a description of the menu bar
and menus.
