Instructions – Belt 150
Gridded drawing:
Use the gridded drawing below
to make a full-size paper pattern
piece: one square = 5 x 5 cm
(2" x 2").
opening, approx. 10 cm (4")
long, on lower long edge for
turning. Trim allowances to 5 mm
( 3 16 ") wide. Turn belt right side
out and press. Sew seam opening
closed. Stitch braid to outer edge
so that it extends approx.5 mm
( 3 16 ") past edge. Cut remaining
braid into 2 equal pieces. Sew
one end of each piece under
end of belt, between seam
marks. Sew sequins to belt as
desired, to accent fabric pattern,
securing each sequin with one
bead.

Cutting:
Belt piece, on fold 2x
adding 1 cm ( 3 8 ") seam allowances
to outer edges.
Materials:
Jacquard fabric, 140 cm (55")
wide: 0.25 m (10"). Braid trim,
1 cm ( 3 8 ") wide: 2.00 m (2 1 4 yds).
Sequins and seed beads. Burda
tissue paper with cm-grid.
Sewing:
Lay belt pieces together, right
sides facing. Stitch together
along outer edges, leaving an
RUECKW. MITTE = CENTER BACK
STOFFBRUCH = FOLD
