    * Comments: Alright, let's go.

      4 months of work : 1 to get and select the footage, 1 to cut and clean the footage, 1 for the editing and 1 to add some effects and transitions. Not the big project I had in mind for the past 2 years yet.
      As usual, the result is quite different from what I imagined when I started.
      Blablablablabla...

      Footage :
      Once again, multi-anime.
      I selected scenes from a lot of sources linked by the same kind of atmosphere.
      Everything has been cleaned using Neat Video, a virtualdub plugin.

      Music :

      DJ Spoke - Watch Them Fall Down, progressive trance.
      I mixed the Original version and the Montano Dub.

      Now some technical stuff :
      soft : Premiere 2.0 & Paintshop Pro 8
      Auriga is simply the name of my computer and the arrow is it's logo.

      60 fps :
      I always had a problem when watching an AMV. Getting the feeling that something wasn't optimal in the video no matter how good the animation of the footage was, it was kinda slow or lagging.
      Then I discovered Twixtor, a plugin for Adobe Premiere which is able to interpolate extra frames to improve and smooth down the animation.
      It's a bit hard to use since there are no general settings that work in all circumstances. Indeed, depending on the velocity and variety of motions, the real fps (in general 7 or 15 in anime), luma, transition, etc... the settings have to be adjusted.
      The extra frames aren't always very accurate especially in cases of fast motions but it works pretty well in general. The 30 fps version was made from the 60 removing 1 frame over 2. So when it isn't synchronized with the real frames (not the extra ones) you should see some deformed scenes.
      The render takes a LOT of time. About 1 frame each 3 seconds considering the resolution of the project (720p) and my hardware config (Q6600 quad core, win XP).

      It required a lot of effort and time but comparing the 60 fps version and the 30, it was worth it.

      Divx : cause I like it !
      Alright here's how I computed my encoding :
      I took Magic Pad as reference : 100MB (divx 640*360 - 5:03 min@30 fps)

      Auriga = MP * Kd * Kr * Kf * Ki

      Kd : duration
      Kr : resolution
      Kf : framerate
      Ki : i don't care about filesize

      Kt = 316/303 = 1.05
      Kr = root [(1280*720) / (640*360)] = 2
      Kf = root (60/30) = 1.414
      Ki = 1

      Auriga = 100 * 1.05 * 2 * 1.414 * 1
      Auriga = 297 MB

      And we're good !

      Check out the 'Making Of' video for more information on the editing and footage.

      Due to the unusual frame rate and high definition, the video might not work on old computers.
      I tried to play the 432p@60 on a P4@3.4Ghz Alienware laptop and I noticed a lag of the video on the the audio (3 seconds when reaching the end).

      Please get the 60 fps version only if you have a recent powerful computer... or PS3
      You can also try it with VLC which is able to drop some frames in order to keep the audio/video synchronisation.
