This is a txt instead of nfo because some people are computer illiterate. If you have no clue what I'm talking about or how to use rar and iso files, then I'm probably talking about *you*. any updates to this will be posted at cherryfrost.com/hoogli/chinesetorrent Contains: Chinese Homework Trainer 3.4.1 - This is ridiculously useful. Features listed at http://www.euroasiasoftware.com/ht/features.html DimSum 0.7.9 - Contains: Dictionary - search by definition, pronunciation, component (e.g. radicals), and writing Text editor - add pinyin, definition, etc. Website translator - pretty cool, but pretty slow Random programs - print calligraphy paper, get a Chinese name, use flashcards, etc. HSK - Also known as the Chinese Proficiency Test, this is a collection of 3 tests used to measure people's proficiency in Chinese as a foreign language. This torrent contains vocabulary lists (made with Chinese Homework Trainer) and 3 sample tests. Links - Self-explanatory Pimsleur Mandarin Chinese levels 1-3 - Unlike other listening courses, this one challenges the student to remember, instead of spewing random vocabulary. Each level contains 30 lessons of 30 minutes each. Best for people who want to speak Chinese in formal situations, but don't need to read or write it. Summer camp stuff - if you're a teenager, you should go. It's fun, and you might even get to see me! Yale Language Series - A series of books about foreign languages. Chinese for Beginners by Hoogli - written by me. It sorta sucks, and I stopped after finding the MIT site that I listed in the Links section. How to Learn Any Language - the first part is a boring autobiography. The second part (pg 24) shows you how to learn a foreign language. pronunciations.rar - Collection of Mandarin pronunciations. Rosetta Stone Chinese - a unique method of learning a language that contains no translation. Which isn't always a good thing. I recommend you use this with Dimsum. Also, it's useless unless you are familiar with pinyin and Chinese characters. I personally think it's overrated Random useless facts: I know English, Chinese, Spanish, and a little Arabic. English is hard. Spanish is easy. Chinese writing looks pretty. Arabic writing looks ugly. Or maybe my handwriting just sucks. Probably both. My screenname (hoogli) is also a river in India. I live in the most Indian town in the US (18%), but our mayor is Korean. Some Indians want our schools to teach Hindi. The second most spoken language here is Gujarati, not Hindi. However, I would rather have our schools teach Chinese. Reasons to learn Chinese can be found at http://cherryfrost.com/hoogli/chinese I'm going to visit the 2008 Chinese Olympics. I use Utorrent and Isohunt, because they pwn. My favorite bands are Evanescence and System of a Down. I'm making a Chinese language club at my school. http://cherryfrost.com/hoogli/jpscc
