Lisa Lynne Franco has had some streaks of great events and some streaks where things just did not go right. She had a recording contract with Innovative Communications in Germany and she did not care for the way they were trying to market her. She achieved some success as Celestial Winds with David Young until he got a big head and ran off with the money. When her first Windham Hill CD (Daughters of the Celtic Moon) came out, she was in a hospital in Florida suffering from encephalitis and was not able to enjoy its initial successes. Through all of that, she has been able to maintain a strong spirituality and integrity ? personal and artistic ? and her music has not suffered at all. In fact, she seems to thrive on the adversity and uses her creative energy and music as therapy. Moonsongs, Franco's first CD after Young's departure, is a great example of her perseverance. The music, while somewhat melancholy and dramatic, is absolutely beautiful. Franco has the ability to translate her emotions into her sound design and to convey her spirituality to her listeners. These soundscapes are full, lush, and pastoral. Franco is telling her listeners that all will be right if she trusts God.
