Music plays across the landscape as troubadours have begun sharing their
songs and intellect with the citizens of Carcassonne. In hopes of entertaining
those who travel through the cities and across the roads, these performers
have set out to be heard by as many as possible...

A DDITIONAL R ULES
Preparation
At the start of the game, shuffle the troubadour tiles with the rest of the tiles.
1. Place a tile
The troubadour tiles are placed in accordance with the usual Carcassonne rules.
2. Deploy a follower
When a tile with a troubadour is played, followers may be deployed to the tile as a Troubadour. Players may instead choose
to deploy themselves to any other feature that may be on the tile, assuming it has yet to be claimed.
3. Scoring a troubadour
Depending on the tile, a troubadour is vying to entertain followers within either a city, or a road. Troubadours score points for
every follower belonging to the feature in which the troubadour has been deployed. A troubadour is scored at the same time
in which it’s corresponding feature is completed and scored. A troubadour scores 4 points for every follower (knight or thief)
deployed within it’s corresponding city or road. When scoring points, the large follower (from Inns & Cathedrals ) is considered
as 2 followers, and therefore is worth 8 points. However, when scoring a troubadour, the mayor (from Abbey & Mayor ) is
considered as 1 follower, regardless of it’s value when determining the majority value for the city. As usual, the builder (from
Traders & Builders ) is not considered a follower.

In this example, the city is completed and contains 3 total followers. Therefore, the blue follower’s
troubadour scores a total of 12 points. The troubadour is then removed from it’s tile and returned to
the blue player’s supply.
In this example, there are 2 troubadours vying to entertain followers on the same road. Because a
builder is not considered a follower, the road contains a total value of 3 followers (1 normal follower
and 1 large follower worth 2). Once completed, both the red player and the green player will earn
12 points. As usual, the blue player earns 8 points for the completed road.
Final Scoring
A troubadour that remains on it’s tile at the end of the game earns only 2 points per follower in it’s corresponding city or
road, instead of the usual 4 points.
