WAVEFORM-HS
is a new generation of microwave system optimized
for high speed Ethernet networking and of course also for transmis-
sion of standard E1 or E3 channels. Thanks to the scalable concept,
this system permits you the optimal selection of appropriate modifi-
cation in terms of your actually required application and opens you
the possibility to increase the transmission capacity depending on
your present requirements. System operates in standard licensed
frequency bands with radio capacity from 5 Mbps up to 155 Mbps

When it is combined with CONFORM multiplexers it offers you the
optimal solution not only for todays, but also for tomorrow require-
ments.
Gigabit Ethernet port and one universal extension HSI (High Speed Interface)
slot. Only by using the software license keys, it is instantly possible to upgrade
your system in dependence on your latest requirements.
Optimized for Ethernet application
The system is optimized for “last mile” Ethernet applications. Gigabit Ethernet
and Fast Ethernet ports are directly integrated in IDU. Fast Ethernet port can be
used either for management connection or for traffic connection. To increase the
number of user interfaces it is possible to connect the standard external multiple-
xer from CONFORM family.

Priority based packet system PBPS
No PDH/SDH platform. The system works under unique proprietary packet
system with different priority for each transmission channel. This new solu-
tion with the assignment of transmission capacity depending on modulation
scheme and channel bandwidth controls adaptive selection of user interfaces
and their speeds.
IP based management system
Network management system, based on IP protocol with standard routing func-
tion and several IP utilities (ping, telnet, ..), is integrated in the system. TELNET,
WEB and SNMP protocols are used for basic system configuration and monito-
ring. All management utilities are common for all products from WAVEFORM and
CONFORM families.

Compact and scalable
The concept offers the smallest IDU on the market with integrated basic traffic
and management ports. No additional modules are needed for general appli-
cations. WAVEFORM-HS is designed as software defined system with the com-
mon platform for different transmission capacities, frequency bands and user
interfaces. Only one IDU is sufficient for all configurations. IDU has integrated

1. Radio capacity is a bit rate which is really available for PBPS (priority based packet system) payload. “Over Air” bit rate is increased with necessary radio overhead like FEC and SYNC bytes.
2. True traffic capacity is a bit rate which is really available for user interfaces (E1, E3, Ethernet) without any overhead for PBPS and NMS. Exact throughput for Ethernet interface depends on
type of IP traffic.
