Sponge Balls
The magician displays one sponge ball and asks if anyone knows what it is. After various
responses, he asks if anyone is familiar with the illusion of cutting a woman in half. When they say yes, he
says the sponge ball is interesting because it can create a similar illusion. He then runs his finger in the
middle of sponge ball, asking if it does look like he’s almost sawing it in half. After people respond,
suddenly it does split into two sponge balls. He then puts one into his hand in one into the hand of a
spectator and magically moves one to the spectators hand. He asks how many the spectator really thinks
he’s holding. When he opens his hand, the spectator is actually holding two of them. The magician takes
both, places them into his hand, and asks how many the spectator thinks are there. The magician then
admits that he cheats, because he now has three. He takes one and puts it in his pocket, asking how many
they believe he has. When they respond two, he reminds them that he cheats because he still has three.
Finally, he puts them in the spectators hand and asks how many they think there are. After they answer, he
reminds them again that he cheats. The spectator opens his hand to find 24 sponge balls exploding from
his hand.
Simple Spelling
A card is selected and returned to the deck. The magician looks through the cards and indicates
that he is completely lost as to which card was selected. However, he has something else he’d like to show
people. Righting the cards again, he says that in a deck of normal playing cards, if you spell the name of
the card it appears. He demonstrates this. Just to assuage the non-believers, he demonstrates this again.
Then it dawns on the magician; perhaps this can save his pride for the selected card. He gives the deck to
the person who selected the card and asks him to spell his card. The spectator does and magically finds his
own card.
Gemini Money
A spectator is asked if they want to play a game. When he says yes, he is instructed to take out
some money. Once the spectator has done this, the magician takes out some money also. The magician
explains that the spectator should deal cards off the top until they get the psychic feeling to stop. When
they do, the magician explains and demonstrates, they are supposed to put the rest of the cards on top of it.
Once the spectator has done it, the magician invites two more people to play. They repeat the process and,
once all the money is in, the deck is squared. The magician says, now that everyone has wagered let’s see
the results and spreads the cards. After the audience begins to get uncomfortable, the magician says that
the nice thing about this game is that everyone wins; he pulls out the cards above each bill and they are all
aces.
