IDL Version 7.0
------------------------------------------------------------

This directory contains the IDL documentation set in Adobe
Acrobat PDF format. These files are NOT installed along with
IDL.

  NOTE
  The PDF files are configured to be viewed in Adobe Acrobat
  Reader version 6 or later.

You can view the PDF files directly from the DVD, or
you can copy them to your system for viewing. To install
the IDL documentation set, along with the full text
search index, on your system, copy all of the *.pdf files,
the INDEX.PDX file, and the entire INDEX directory to a
directory on your hard drive.

  NOTE
  If you choose to copy the PDF files to your system, we recommend
  placing the files in the <IDL_DIR>/help/pdf directory, where
  <IDL_DIR> represents the full path to your IDL distribution.


Note on PDF File Viewers
------------------------
While the IDL documentation set PDF files will display in other PDF
viewers, the full-text search facility will only be available if
you use a version of Adobe Acrobat to view the PDF files. Acrobat
is available at no charge directly from Adobe.
