Heroes are typically elite human soldiers that are powerful in combat, and may have special abilities as well. They are trained from the <link="proto:settlement level 1">Town Center</link>, <link="proto:temple">Temple</link> or <link="proto:fortress">Fortress</link>. Heroes are more expensive than <link="topic:human soldiers">human soldiers</link>, but are cost-effective at defeating <link="topic:myth units">myth units</link>. Egyptian heroes are the <link="proto:pharaoh">Pharaoh</link> and <link="proto:priest">Priest</link>. You may have one or two Pharaohs and as many Priests as you can afford. Norse heroes are <link="proto:hero norse">Hersirs</link>. You can train as many Hersirs as you can afford. Greek heroes are unique, but more powerful than other heroes. You can have one Greek Hero per age. If a Greek Hero dies, he can be retrained for the same price. In the Age of Mythology campaign, the heroes can rise again if they <link="topic:hero death model">fall in battle</link>.
