The new MaxSea Version 12.5
The MaxSea version 12.5 is taking over MaxSea software version 10.3 which has been successful for several years among the professional fishing market in France and worldwide with more than 9 000 equipped boats.
The user-friendly interface of the version 12.5 will enable to use its features more efficiently (3d, ARPA, AIS and Weather modules). In addition, it offers new features to help fishermen maximize profitability and efficiency.
With the two novelties of its version, fishermen can, from now, optimize the use of their 3D database: the Forward Looking Depth profile and the automatic follow-up of the contour lines. Moreover, the Trawl Positioning function and the new waypoint database are now available and will be very useful.
1) Forward Looking Depth Profile :
The echo sounder gives depth profile behind and below the boat. It is now possible to visualize this depth profile in front of the boat. The forward Looking Depth profile enables to get anticipated information about the seabed, displaying depth changes up to 500 meters in front of the boat. There is also the possibility to display the picture of the echo sounder thanks to the new technical partnership signed with FURUNO.
The Forward Looking Depth Profile will offer more safety and a better accuracy to assist fishermen in their daily work.
2) Automatic follow up of contour lines
To follow automatically a contour line, the user chooses a depth, visualizes the corresponding contour line (depth data previously recorded with PBG) and converts it, in a single click, into a route. The contour line becomes automatically a workable route for towing (autopilot connection). This function maximizes time saving and efficiency.
3) Trawl Positioning
MaxSea has developed a technology which provides the trawl position estimation. The new version 12.5 gives the possibility to see the trawl (pelagic or bottom trawl) in two ways: on the chart and on the depth profile. The main interest is to reduce the risk of loosing or damaging the trawl.
4) Waypoints Database
With MaxSea, professionals can also manually enter information as: marks, hazards, wrecks etc. It will be automatically exported to a spreadsheet in which they can add names and comments. The fisherman can save quickly and easily all major information. The icons and colours of the added information can be modified according to his needs. This new feature enables the user to computerize any data like logbooks, visualize and print out significant data in one single spreadsheet.
