To print irdasir.txt, open the file in Notepad or another word processor, and then on the File menu, click Print. =========================================================================== IRDASIR.REG - Enables infrared device installation (external adapters only) =========================================================================== To install an external serial infrared adapter on Windows Me, it is necessary to run registry update IRDASIR.REG before starting software installation. Windows Me provides functionality for automatic detection and installation of infrared devices that support Plug and Play standard (external adapters do not support Plug and Play). If your computer has a built-in infrared port and it is enabled in the system BIOS, it will be installed automatically and irsir.reg is not required. To install infrared adapter on Windows Me follow the steps below: 1. Make sure a cable of the external infrared adapter is attached to a serial COM port of the computer. 2. Double click the IRDASIR.REG file, and select Yes to update the registry. 3. Open Control Panel by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel. 4. Double Click Add New Hardware. 5. Begin installing software by clicking Next; proceed with the wizard. 6. When prompted for type of hardware you want to install, select Infrared Devices. 7. Select adapter type that you have connected from the list. Proceed with the wizard until it finishes. Note: if an adapter was installed in the previous version of Windows, necessary files will be updated automatically after an upgrade to Windows Me. It is not necessary to run IRDASIR.REG in this case.
