PRAISE FOR LEADERSHIP UNDER PRESSURE
For me it was fascinating to see how the three circles model and the
functional approach that I introduced at Sandhurst all those years
ago served as a foundation for such an impressive story of excellent
military leadership. What I particularly liked about it is the plain
and unselfconscious insights it gives us into how a good leader can
learn and grow by reflecting upon practical experience in the light of
the abiding principles of leadership. The author strikes just the right
balance between self-confidence and humility – being willing to go on
learning about leadership throughout one’s career. The balance is also
I think just right between story-telling and teaching. The bridging
between the military and the business world is another asset. I look
on it as a real contribution to the field of leadership studies.
